Job Role & Responsibilities
- Medical coders review and verify documentation to ensure it supports diagnoses, procedures, and treatment results. They also conduct audits to ensure the accuracy of coded data.
- May train other coding staff, physicians, and other medical staff on medical coding.
- Communicate with doctors, other medical staff, and insurance companies. They may also clarify records with other team members.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to coding procedures and practices.

- Human anatomy and physiology systems
- General medical terminologies
- Medical Coding, ICD, and CPT
